Prof. ARINDAM MAITRA

Principal Investigator

Arindam Maitra is the Associate Director and Professor at the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (BRIC-NIBMG), Kalyani, India. His major interests are -

  • Unraveling the transcriptomic diversity of the OSCC tumor ecosystem

  • Deciphering the functional genomics of preterm birth

  • Understanding gene regulation in human health

  • Genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogens

SUMITAVA ROY

Research Scholar

Sumitava Roy is a PhD student in the Maitra Lab. His primary area of research is to identify cellular and transcriptional heterogeneity within the Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) at single-cell resolution.

ESHA BHATTACHARJEE

Research Scholar

Esha Bhattacharjee is the PhD student in the Maitra lab. Her research area focuses on the genomics of the maternal and child health, with a major interest in spontaneous preterm birth. She is also involved in the multiple ongoing studies in the maternal and child health.

ARUNIMA ACHARYA

Research Scholar

Arunima Acharya is a PhD student in the Maitra Lab. Her research focuses on navigating the intricate landscape of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) to delineate the transcriptomic distinctions between OSCC associated with oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) and OSCC without the pre-malignant lesion to facilitate early triaging of high risk cases utilizing single-cell RNA sequencing. She is also involved in multiple ongoing projects on single cell transcriptomics.

PIYALI MONDAL

 Research Scholar

Piyali Mondal is PhD student in Maitra Lab. Her research area focuses on study the variations in cell type diversity and materno-fetal interactions in the placenta at different periods of gestation at delivery using single cell transcriptomic approaches.

SUPRATIM GHOSH

Research Scholar

Supratim Ghosh is a Ph.D. student in the Maitra Lab. His primary research objective is to understand the role of genomic variants in regulating cell-type-specific gene expression in human health and disease. He is also involved in multiple ongoing single-cell projects.

Research Scholar

Divyank is a Ph.D. student in Maitra's lab. His work focuses on understanding the role of genetic variants in regulating molecular mechanisms in preterm birth. He is also involved in various ongoing projects in Maternal and Child Health group

Research Scholar

Rishika Maji is a MS-PhD student in Maitra lab. She is currently doing her MS dissertation. Her research area focuses on the use of Long Read Sequencing platform like Oxford Nanopore for identifying genomic and epigenomic variations in early preterm birth.

Research Scholar

Arpita Kabasi is a PhD student at the Maitra Lab. Her primary focus is on understanding oncofetal reprogramming in the tumour ecosystem of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).

SAHANA GHOSH
Senior Data Analyst

Sahana Ghosh is a Senior Data Analyst at the Maitra Lab. Her primary focus is on the development of 'de novo' tools and pipelines to decode genomic data efficiently. Her research in computational oncology involves integrating multi-omics data to understand the pathogenesis and prognosis of oral cancer.
