Prof. Arindam Maitra

PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Arindam Maitra is the Associate Director and Professor at the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (BRIC-NIBMG), Kalyani, India. His major interests are -

  • Unraveling the transcriptomic diversity of the OSCC tumor ecosystem

  • Deciphering the functional genomics of preterm birth

  • Understanding gene regulation in human health

  • Genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogens

Arunima Acharya

RESEARCH SCHOLAR

Arunima Acharya is a PhD student in Maitra Lab. Her research focuses on navigating the intricate landscape of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) to delineate the transcriptomic distinctions between OSCC associated with oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) and OSCC without the pre-malignant lesion to facilitate early triaging of high risk cases utilizing single-cell RNA sequencing. She is also involved in multiple ongoing projects on single cell transcriptomics.

Sahana Ghosh

SENIOR DATA ANALYST

Sahana Ghosh is a Senior Data Analyst in Maitra Lab. Her primary focus is on the development of de novo tools and pipelines to decode genomic data efficiently. Her research in computational oncology involves integrating multi-omics data to understand the pathogenesis and prognosis of oral cancer.

Dr. Anuradha Gautam

PROJECT PERSONNEL

Dr. Anuradha Gautam is a research associate in Maitra Lab. Building on the insights from single-cell sequencing, she is working towards identification and functional characterization of novel immune cell subsets from tumor tissue. This would aid in understanding of the tumor–immune interactions in OSCC and identify actionable therapeutic targets.
